จะพิจารณาปรับลดอัตราดอกเบี้ยช่วงเวลานี้ กว่าจะเห็นผลที่เกิดขึ้น คือ อีก 2-3 ไตรมาส ซึ่งคาดว่าจะเป็นช่วงที่รัฐบาลสามารถเบิกจ่ายงบประมาณรายจ่ายประจำปี 2567 ได้แล้ว ซึ่งจะยิ่งไปเพิ่มแรงกระตุ้น ทั้งการกระตุ้นทางการคลังจากนโยบายของภาครัฐ และการกระตุ้นทางการเงิน ซึ่งเป็นผลจากการลดดอกเบี้ยของ กนง. เครื่องมือของนโยบายการเงินปัจจุบัน คือ อัตราดอกเบี้ยนโยบาย (อัตราดอกเบี้ยธุรกรรมซื้อคืนพันธบัตรแบบทวิภาคีระยะ 1 วัน) ซึ่งกำหนดโดยคณะกรรมการนโยบายการเงิน หรือ กนง. รวมกัน 4 คน โดยแต่ละคนมีหนึ่งเสียงและผลการตัดสินใช้วิธีเสียงข้างมาก สำหรับกำหนดการประชุม กนง.

สักกะภพ พันธ์ยานุกูล ผู้อำนวยการอาวุโส ฝ่ายตลาดการเงิน ธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทย (ธปท.) แถลงข่าวภาวะเศรษฐกิจและการเงินไทยประจำเดือน เม.ย. 2567 ระบุว่า เศรษฐกิจไทยโดยรวมปรับดีขึ้นจากเดือนก่อน (MoM) ตามภาคบริการที่ขยายตัว สอดคล้องกับรายได้ภาคการท่องเที่ยวดีขึ้นตามจำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติที่เพิ่มขึ้น +4.4% จากเดือนก่อนหน้า ประมาณ three ล้านคนในเดือน เม.ย. ใกล้เคียงกับเดือนก่อนหน้า หลังเทศกาลถือศีลอดในช่วงเดือนรอมฎอนสิ้นสุดลง และคาดว่าไทยจะได้แรงส่งจากภาคบริการต่อเนื่องในเดือน มิ.ย. ทั้งนี้ ธปท.คาดการณ์ด้วยว่า อัตราเงินเฟ้อทั่วไปจะมีแนวโน้มปรับตัวลดลง โดยในปี sixty six ขยายตัวเพิ่มขึ้น 3% กลับเข้ามาสู่กรอบเป้าหมายเงินเฟ้อในไตรมาสที่ 3 ของปี sixty six และจะลดลงต่อเนื่องในปี sixty seven ซึ่ง ธปท.คาดว่าจะขยายตัวเพิ่มขึ้น 2.1% โดยราคาน้ำมันดิบดูไบมีแนวโน้มลดลงในปี 2567 จากปริมาณการผลิตกลุ่มนอน-โอเปกที่มีแนวโน้มเพิ่มขึ้น และการส่งออกน้ำมันของรัสเซียที่มีแนวโน้มเพิ่มขึ้นเช่นเดียวกัน หลังปรับเปลี่ยนเส้นทางการค้าเพื่อลดผลกระทบจากมาตรการคว่ำบาตร. น.ส.รุ่ง ยังให้ความเห็นถึงกระแสการเรียกร้องให้ ธปท.พิจารณาปรับลดอัตราดอกเบี้ยนโยบาย ในภาวะที่อัตราเงินเฟ้อติดลบอยู่ในปัจจุบันว่า หาก กนง.
